Practicum requirements
For NLHS students
- NLHS students will complete 525 supervised hours (150 hours each in fall and spring and 225 hours in summer semester) in the nurse leader role to satisfy requirements for graduation. These hours begin in the fall semester of the last year of the program.
- Students should present all concerns to the preceptor.
- The student maintains accurate records of practicum hours, which are reviewed and approved by clinical faculty.
- The practicum log will be completed by each student and signed off by the preceptor on the hours completed each day. An original signature must appear after each date that practicum hours are logged. Students are recommended to take a lunch break as learning is hard work.
- Students will provide the evaluation forms for the preceptor to complete and submit by the due dates throughout each semester.
