Practicum requirements

CNS students complete 525 supervised practicum hours in the CNS role to satisfy requirements for certification eligibility and graduation requirements. Students perform clinical hours over the final three spring and fall semesters.

During each student's practicum, the faculty/supervisor will:

1. Meet with the preceptor and student during the semester for evaluation purposes.
2. Provide consultation and support of the preceptor when problems are reported.
3. Acquire preceptor input regarding the student’s performance.
4. Evaluate and document the student’s progress by grading clinical course assignments.
